Power Platform
The Power Platform is a suite of interconnected tools that allow businesses to build custom business applications that can run on a range of platforms, including mobile devices, automate processes, integrate systems and share data, analyse data and build client-facing websites that can include ‘chatbots’. The main constituent parts of the Power Platform are:
Power Apps - Build custom apps to run on a range of platforms
Power Automate - automate processes and workflows
Power Pages - Create and publish websites, including portals to provide data to clients
Power BI - Powerful tools to visualise and analyse data
CoPilot Studio - Harness the power of Artificial Intelligence, including creating ‘chatbots’ to deal with client enquiries
It is based on the concept of ‘Low-code/No-code’, so that many functions can be built without the need for traditional developer skills, although in truth, a detailed understanding and knowledge of how the tools work and interact is still required, and we are able to assist in the creation of tools that truly meet your needs.
Unlike a traditional back office, which can be considered largely to be ‘siloed’, with integration with other systems often complex, the Power Platform is designed to integrate seamlessly with other Microsoft services and a wide range third-party applications, allowing businesses to develop their own infrastructure, using the tools and systems that meet their needs in a coherent way.
However, whilst this offers a massive opportunity, the complexity can also lead to issues and any implementation needs to be carefully planned and project-managed, which is the role of a Solutions Architect.
